Checklist
Does a compact sauna fit in your garden?
Run through these five points before you order. They are not about the tent, but about the place where it will stand. More about putting a sauna in the garden is on a separate page.
- A flat area of at least 2 × 2 metres, preferably 3 × 3
- No overhanging branches or roof overhang above the chimney
- Non-flammable ground under and around the stove
- Room to walk around it while you are firing
- A spot where the smoke does not blow straight into the neighbours' garden

Inside
Compact outside, roomy inside.
Three square metres sounds small, but a sauna needs no walking space. You sit. What counts is the height, and at 200 cm you stand upright while the heat hangs above you where it belongs.
- Seating for two people on the wooden bench
- Standing height of 200 cm in the middle
- Three panoramic windows for light and a view
- Stove stands free, on a fireproof mat
How many people
Small, but not cramped.
On paper five people fit. In practice it depends on what you want. With two you have plenty of room, you can both lean back against the wall and there is space for a bucket and towels. That is where most people end up.
With four it is cosy and full and everyone sits upright. With five it works, but you sit shoulder to shoulder and someone has to stand up if another wants out. For a session with friends that is fine, for a quiet evening for two it is unnecessary.
The stove takes up a corner. Keep that in mind: you are not sitting on three square metres, you are sitting on about two and a half. That is still more than most two-person sauna cabins, which often come out at around two square metres.
The height does the work
What makes a compact sauna pleasant or stuffy is not the footprint but the height. Warm air rises, so in a low space your head is in the hottest layer while your feet stay cold. At 200 cm you stand upright and sit at the height where it is pleasant, with the hottest air above you.
